Deraso Dokhlohe was born in Kenya, she is a certified mediator for out of court settlement.
Deraso is also the ambasassadress of the African Capitals of Culture in East Africa, co-founder of Highway Education, a Kenyan-Canadian organization that stretches from Kenya to Somalia and founder of A Day As A Refugee, a nongovernmental organization whose main goal is to look into the living standard of every refugee and carrying out research and coming up with reasonable solutions to tackle the refugee crisis. Dokhole showcases the daily struggles of refugees in Africa and also point out various struggles of refugees around the Globe.
Deraso joined the board of Pierced Rock press in 2020 and she will be writing the preface to the revised edition of The Pride of an African Migrant, due for publication on June 15, 2020.
Crystal Rutangye has seven years’ experience in editing and proof-reading fiction and non-fiction books, magazines, academic papers, proposals and reports. She has edited over fifteen publications, including the autobiography of Justice Mike Chibita, the current DPP of Uganda and ‘The Best of Dr Love’, which is a best-selling book by the celebrated New Vision columnist Hilary Bainemigisha.
In 2012, she was a participant of the first African Writers’ Trust (AWT) Editors’ Workshop facilitated by Ellah Allfrey, who is a former Deputy Editor in Chief of Granta-UK, one of Africa and UK’s most celebrated book editors, and who was the head of the panel of judges for the Commonwealth Short story competition in 2014. Crystal worked with Moran Publishers Uganda Ltd (the former Macmillan – Uganda) for two years where she doubled as the customer and administrative officer and supported the marketing and publishing departments in sales, editorial and proof-reading. In 2013, she underwent a six-week editorial internship with Modjaji Books in Cape Town, South Africa, courtesy of AWT.
In 2015, she completed an MA in Publishing Studies at the University of Stirling in the UK where she underwent a two-week internship with Palimpsest Book Production Ltd.
Her first short story, Legal Alien, was written during an AWT workshop after which it was published in an online anthology entitled ‘Ssubi’. Legal Alien was, in 2016, commissioned by a South African Film Company that has adapted a short film from it. She is consolidating research further to her Master’s degree, and developing her editorial expertise towards offering a full range of book production and publishing services.

Dúpẹ́ Kúkú is a communications professional, editor and writer.
She manages media relations and communications for the achievement of sustainable development in programs, projects and activities.
She also studies the influences of communication; designing research, programs, and communications to achieve positive outcomes of sexuality and health.
She edited weekly publications of Philosophy Students, Queens Hall, and Union of Campus Journalist press organisations in the University of Ìbàdàn as an undergraduate student. She has also served on the editorial board of periodical magazines and official communications teams.
She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a Master’s degree in Communication and Language Arts
